Put Foundation Endowments to Work for ‘Total Impact’

Recently, we came across a report by The Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) indicating the limited use of impact investing by US-based foundations because of their perception that impact investing has minimal efficacy with respect to mission achievement and financial performance goals.

Our belief – for foundations in particular – is that impact-oriented investment portfolios have enormous potential to amplify philanthropic programming and grant making. We deconstruct the CEPs findings to shed some light on Foundations’ misconceptions.
